Christopher Eccleston

Born in Salford in 1964, Christopher Eccleston gained prominence in the 1990s and early 2000s for TV series including Cracker, Our Friends in the North, and The Second Coming, and films including Let Him Have It and Shallow Grave. In 2005, he brought his northern tones to playing the war-weary Ninth Doctor in the first series of the revived Doctor Who. He first reprised the role for Big Finish in 2021’s Ravagers, and continues to star in The Ninth Doctor Adventures today. His other recent credits include The Leftovers, The A Word, and Dodger.
