Bonnie Langford

Bonnie Langford was already well known for the film Bugsy Malone and the TV series Just William when she was cast in Doctor Who. She played Mel Bush, a companion to the Sixth and Seventh Doctors, in 1986 and 87. She followed this with a successful stage career and a regular role on Eastenders, before returning to Doctor Who for six episodes from 2022 to 2025, meeting the Fourteenth and Fifteenth Doctors. Before that, though, Langford reprised the character on audio for Big Finish Productions, beginning with 2000’s The Fires of Vulcan.
