Paul McGann

Paul McGann, born in Liverpool in 1959, was known for BBC serial The Monocled Mutineer and the comedy movie Withnail and I before being cast as the Eighth Doctor. He played the Time Lord in the 1996 Doctor Who TV Movie, followed by return screen appearances in 2013 and 2022. It’s in the Big Finish audio dramas, McGann has properly defined this incarnation; he made his audio debut in 2001’s Storm Warning and has appeared in over 100 audio productions since. His other notable credits include Hornblower, Luther, and Holby City.
