Colin Baker

The actor Colin Baker, born in 1943, had early successes in BBC drama The Brothers and as Bayban the Butcher in sci-fi series Blake’s 7, before being cast as the Sixth Doctor in 1984. His take on the Time Lord had a commanding presence and a savage wit, and though his run on TV Doctor Who ended in 1986 after just two series, Baker later returned to the character for an acclaimed run of audio dramas, beginning in 1999.
