Lalla Ward

After beginning her career in the Hammer horror Vampire Circus, and appearing in various films and TV series, Lalla Ward played the second incarnation of the Fourth Doctor’s Time Lady companion Romana on Doctor Who from 1979 to 81. She first reprised the role for Big Finish Productions in 2000, in the story The Apocalypse Element, and has since returned in The Fourth Doctor Adventures, Gallifrey, and other ranges. Ward notably played Ophelia to Derek Jacobi’s Hamlet in the BBC adaptation of the Shakespeare tragedy.
